Happy Retirement!
After over 20 years managing Irish Ferries vessels, including 6 years with DFM and then 9 years with Matrix, Peter Jordan, our Managing Director will retire from Matrix Ship Management this week as he has decided he wants to spend more time with his family, enjoying his hobbies and looking at new opportunities.
In order to maintain a smooth transition within Matrix, Peter will be retained until the end of 2020 as a Management Consultant to work with the Directors and help us successfully manage the transition. I’m sure some of you may still continue to see Peter travelling onboard occasionally in his new life – likely carrying some golf clubs and a glass of red wine.
Speaking on behalf of all the staff I’d like to thank Peter for his fearless but good natured leadership, tight governance and bold strategic vision for Matrix since we founded the Company back in 2011.
Personally, I can honestly say I have learned a lot from working with him over the years and particularly enjoyed his unique sense of humour, experienced commercial guidance/mentoring and banter around the office.
The office will not be the same without him, but I hope you will all join with me (Peter’s contacts will remain the same until end of 2020 for private messages) in wishing Peter all the very best health, wealth and happiness in the coming months and years with his family.
